Living in the Atlanta means finding a way to coexist in harmony with insects especially Dictyoptera, Cicadidae, Formicidae, and Coleoptera. It is not uncommon for one of these creatures to crawl upon me while I am sitting in my backyard in a chaise lounge sipping on a cold one under the hot summer sun. Having lived in Atlanta for over thirty years, I have become so accustomed to this encroachment that I now routinely displace them by a simple flick of my finger and watch them go flying to a new, non-intrusive location. For some strange reason, I felt compelled to immortalize this experience by carving it. Enjoy!
